Is it mandatory to fence off a swimming pool?

By September 30, 2027, all residential swimming pools in Quebec must comply with provincial regulations, regardless of their year of installation.

A pool fence must, in particular:

• Have a minimum height of 1.2 meters

• To be equipped with a door with automatic closing and locking

• To be designed in such a way as to prevent escalation
